For more than three quarters of a century our members have been active in securing safe reliable and efficient products and services for the commercial and industrial heating sector.
Setting Standards
Together ICOM and our members have been instrumental in the development of product and installation standards both at National and European level. A great deal has been invested in ensuring the safe methods and practices of UK manufacturers are reflected in the developing European and ISO standards.
Influencing Regulation
ICOM has a long history of working closely with Government in the development of regulations that impact on the industrial and commercial heating sector. We are seen as the lead organisation in this sector and often contacted by government officials when guidance and advice is required.
Promoting Industry Through Best Practice
Commercial and industrial heating equipment has undergone a transformation over recent years. Old inefficient products have been replaced by modern well controlled and efficient heating equipment, often working in condensing mode to extract every possible watt of energy. This transformation has been industry lead, with ICOM and its members at the forefront of these changes.
