Information

One of HHIC’s greatest strengths is its ability to provide accurate information and guidance to support the industry, including:

  • Informing members on relevant legislative/policy issues and developments and responding to consultations on their behalf.
  • Regular updates and briefings including our weekly e-news bulletin
  • Arange of specialist groups representing various sectors of the industry, which meet regularly and bring together members with common business interests
  • Our sales statistics service, which keeps members up-to-date with market trends
  • Our regularly-updated website at www.hhic.org.uk, which includes sections for consumers, members and the wider industry.
Representation

HHIC is able to offer the industry a single, united voice, through a range of specialist activities:
  • Lobbying  to actively promote the interests of the industry to Government officials and work closely with Government to ensure that it thoroughly understands the interests of the industry
  • Public affairs and high-level Government liaison, through participation in relevant political events and All Party Groups.
  • Press and PR service, aimed at actively promoting the industry by keeping it in the public eye.
Networking

HHIC brings together all interested parties by building and maintaining relationships with organisations, associations and professional bodies,with whom we develop strategic partnerships, and other sectors with an interest in our industry.

Market Development

We support and promote the growth of the domestic heating and hot water market through:
  • Our dedicated consumer/trade helpline, managed by experienced staff and a qualified heating engineer
  • Our trade and consumer website
  • A range of campaigns and publications aimed at raising awareness of the market place
  • Using our statistics service to monitor trends in the market and anticipate future developments.
Technical Expertise

Our specialist team possesses the highest levels of technical expertise and provides:
  • In-depth product knowledge
  • Product performance standards
  • Technical information standards
  • Best practice advice
  • Compliance knowledge
  • Active participation in training programmes, such as the Energy Efficiency installer programme. We are now looking at training needs for new renewable technologies.
What Else

HHIC has always been committed to improving standards, both in terms of product quality and installation in order to enhance the reputation of the industry.

We developed and continue to manage Benchmark, the nationally-recognised Code of Practice for manufacturers and installers, which encourages the very highest levels of installation and commissioning of heating appliances.


The Wider Organisation

HHIC is part of the SBGI – giving members access to this well-established trade association’s wider corporate activities including international events and industry seminars.

HHIC’s range of activity and expertise make us well-placed to effectively represent our industry’s interests. At the same time, we are responsive to the needs of our members in a changing and evolving industry, as new technologies come into the market place.
