The HHIC is governed by a Board consisting of elected members who decide overall strategy, policy, direction and service provision.  We operate a group structure to represent the various sectors within the heating and hot water market; some groups have technical panels and work groups to enhance support and information.  The functional groups combine all sectors and provide a forum for discussion on topics of industry-wide interest and to undertake collective action.


Primary Scope and Purpose

As the principal representative body for the domestic heating industry in the UK, to provide a forum for discussion and a means for initiating and undertaking collective action to develop and promote the domestic heating and hot water markets in the UK.


Objectives

a) To keep members informed on all matters relevant to the domestic heating and hot water
b) To promote and develop the market for domestic heating and hot water across the whole of the supply chain
c) To represent and promote members’ interests where appropriate in respect of technical, legal and regulatory issues
d) To raise standards of competence and quality among installers
e) To provide members with opportunities for networking with each others and for discussing relevant issues
f) To provide members with opportunities for influencing key decision makers in Government, the EU and other relevant organisations
g) To encourage and facilitate new technical and commercial developments
h) To enhance the reputation of the domestic heating and hot water industry


Main Activities

a) Dissemination of information to members, the wider industry, influencers and decision makers and consumers
b) Influencing  and representation activities on behalf of the industry
c) Developing and managing industry initiatives and schemes
d) Arranging meetings and events to facilitate networking and collective action
